Since the chilling air of winter has changed into soothing cold breeze, here comes the spring season known as Basant or Vasant in India, one of the six Indian seasons

Shree Shankara Sen. Sec. School, Urkura Raipur celebrated the day to worship Goddess Saraswati, the symbol of knowledge and wisdom.

It is the 5th day of Hindu month Maagh/Maghd considered as the first day of spring known as Vasant Panchami. Because of its strong significance in Hindu mythology, Vasant Panchami is one of the most important festivals in India.

To mark the occasion, a special assembly was held on this day. It started with singing of  ‘Saraswati Vandana’. Students offered yellow flowers to the Goddess and also brought yellow coloured snacks to share with each other. Teachers put chandan tilak for all the students and Prasad was distributed to all staff members and students.
