Two days Workshop on POCSO Act 2012 was conducted in Shree Shankara Sen. Sec. School. Dr. Jaya Vasudevan (Dean, UG Law, Controller of Examination, HNLU, Naya Raipur ) and Ms. Parvati Nambiar ( Law Aspirant, HNLU, Naya Raipur) were the resource person. Whole Staff and students have attended the workshop and were guided about it.
Both the resource person has reiterated the importance of the role played by educators in the safety and security of children. The teachers were also made aware about the various forms of sexual harassment that are often overlooked. This workshop also provided information to all the teachers and students on various preventive steps to be undertaken for identifying signs of abuse and the relevance of POCSO Act.
Resource persons have educated the participants on the importance of knowing these laws – The Child Rights – Right to Survival, Protection, Development, and Participation, Juvenile Justice Act and POCSO ACT – 2012 for prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and understand both psychological and legal implications of the Act.
